"What? Renae wants to go with me?" Matthew furrowed his brows.

They weren't heading to the spa to sell the medical literature. It could easily turn into a fight to the death. He was confident in securing his own safety, but he couldn't do the same for Renae. After thinking for a moment, Matthew firmly refused. "You'd better not go."

Renae couldn't find a reason to convince Matthew to bring her along, so she had to resort to sweet talk and acting cute.

Matthew felt the need to clarify things. "The fact that they killed Marcus means they meant business. It can be dangerous."

Renae's expression changed. A hint of hesitation flashed in her eyes before they were filled with resolve. "I know it can be dangerous, but I'm still going. Even though you're not close with Marcus, you're going. So, there's no way I'm backing down." Reane didn't quite trust Matthew. She wanted to see him avenge Marcus first before handing over the medical literature.

Ever since Marcus passed away, Renae found out that the world had changed. In the past, Marcus was always there to keep Renae safe from everything. After he died, many men offered their help, but none of them were sincere. Renae was no longer a naive woman who didn't know anything.

Matthew felt even greater respect for Renae. She was worlds apart from Tessa. After a pause, he replied, "Okay, we'll go together."

At the entrance of Velvet Eden Spa, Matthew got out of his car and spoke to Trevor, who was in the driver's seat.

"Get you men to gather at the front entrance and back entrance. The three of us will enter the spa."

Trevor pulled out his phone and sent a message. "I've already given the orders to my men."

Feeling nervous, Renae's face was flushed, but she forced herself to act calm. "Shall we head inside now?"

"Yes," Matthew responded and took out a medical magazine. "Let's go. I'm sure they'll come for us once they see the signal." With that, they made their way to the lobby.

The staff stationed at the door greeted them. One of the staff members stepped forward and asked with a smile, "Do you wish to

visit the VIP floor or the main floor?"

It was Matthew's first time visiting a spa, so he had no idea what was the difference. "Can you tell me more about it?"

The staff member kept his smile and

explained, "The VIP area offers a

private room, with free foot

massages and body scrubs services from our attractive female

attendants.

"You also get to have snacks, fruits, a TV, and a computer. Besides that, you get to enjoy the rest of the standard services here." Matthew was contemplating when Renae interjected, "VIP floor."

The staff member replied, "Alright. That will be three VIP packages. Would you like to have three private rooms or two?"

Renae glanced at Matthew and saw

his confused expression. Realizing

he didn't know how things work

either, she asked the staff, "How many rooms do you think we should get?"

The staff member looked between Renae and Matthew before moving her gaze to Trevor.

When he saw Trevor standing upright like a soldier, he seemed to realize something. "I think two rooms would be the best."

After saying that, he guided them to the cashier to pay. Then, they took the elevator up to the sixth floor.

Upon reaching the sixth floor, the staff member opened the door to Room 616 and asked, "Who among you will be staying in this room?"

Matthew just walked right in. "I like this room number. I'll take this one."

The staff member then said to Trevor, "Please follow me to the other room, sir."

Renae called out to the staff. "Shouldn't you be taking me to the other room?"

The staff member was shocked. "Are you saying the two men will stay in one room?"

Renae figured out right away that the staff member had the wrong idea and thought that she and Matthew were a couple. She coldly replied, "What else did you think?" With a strange expression, the staff member responded, "Please come with me to the other room then."

Matthew stepped into the room and realized it was quite spacious.

There was a shower and a massage bed right in front of it. Across the room was a large couch, and beside it was a coffee table with fruits and snacks on it.
