The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge

Chapter 2439

Chapter 2439

Justin and Asher successfully pulled Dr. Wagner and Ian out of the car, and the four of them ran toward the other end of the alley.

Behind them, shouts and the clash of weapons echoed incessantly. Justin glanced back and saw Drew single-handedly holding off over a dozen assailants. His heart began to beat fiercely, growing warm with emotion.noveldrama

"Justin!" Asher suddenly skidded to a halt.

Justin looked ahead. His heart sank heavily.

At the entrance of the alley stood a tall, imposing figure, radiating an overwhelming pressure.

Even though his face was obscured, his defiant aura and the bloodthirsty menace that clung to him gave him away instantly.

It was Grant's trusted henchman, Jace.

"Mr. Salvador! W-What should we do?!" Ian asked, trembling.

"You go. I'll hold him off," Asher said, his eyes flashing with an icy determination as he stepped forward.

"Ian, take Dr. Wagner and go. Do not miss the press conference," Justin said.

He forced out the words in a deep, steady voice, "I'll stay and fight him with my brother."

Asher's dark eyes widened, staring at him in astonishment. What did he just call me? I must have misheard!

"Fine... Mr. Salvador, you two must be careful!" Ian nodded with red-rimmed eyes. No matter how reluctant he felt, he could only comply. He knew staying behind would only make things worse.

Asher immediately refused. "No! You all leave!"

"I've fought him before-more than once. Alone, you may not stand a chance," Justin said firmly, his decision unwavering.

Before they could resolve their disagreement, Jace moved like an unsheathed blade. His body radiated a chilling aura as he charged toward them.

"Go now!" Asher's eyes glinted red as he surged forward. A sharp dagger, gleaming with cold light, appeared in his hand.

In a flash, the two powerful figures closed in on each other.

Justin's eyes widened abruptly. Something felt off.

Asher held a weapon, but Jace was unarmed.

Moreover, Justin had crossed paths with Jace before. The savage, beast-like bloodlust that usually radiated from Jace was absent this time.

"Ash, wait!" Justin shouted, but it was too late.

Asher's dagger plunged deep into Jace's right shoulder. Blood gushed out, staining Jace's shirt crimson.

Yet, Jace's expression remained impassive. He seemed devoid of pain, his cold eyes fixed on Asher's sweat-soaked face.

For a moment, his gaze grew unfocused. Fragments of memory rushed into his mind-some of Asher, some of Bella, and others of a middle-aged woman who had once met him briefly and cried while calling him Hugh.

This strange sensation bewildered and confused Jace, but he did not resist the intrusion of these people who were once his enemies into his thoughts.

Asher froze, his grip on the dagger tightening.

He had not expected Jace to neither fight back nor evade. He dared not lower his guard, though.

After all, this man was Grant's loyal henchman, who had repeatedly struck ruthlessly at Bella and Justin.

Even if it cost him his life, Asher would never let him succeed again!

With that resolve, Asher wrenched the dagger free and raised it high.

"Ash, wait!" Justin fixed his eyes on Jace, noticing that he made no move to retaliate. In a low, steady voice, Justin said, "He's your brother. Don't act rashly yet!"
