Chapter 538
Jessica quickly agreed. "No problem at all. I understand that you don't want to take risks, and neither do I."
Paula sighed. "The publishing industry isn't exactly thriving these days."
Jessica smiled reassuringly. "There's nothing to worry about with me around."
"I'll have my team design a draft cover for your comic. Once it's ready, you can post it on your homepage to test the waters."
"That works perfectly," Jessica replied without hesitation.
Having finally resolved the issue that had been on her mind for so long, Jessica felt a wave of relief and excitement. She couldn't help but look forward to what tomorrow would bring.
When the draft cover was ready, she immediately uploaded it to her homepage. She then hired professionals to stir up some buzz online, aiming for a strong promotional push.
Even if the sales didn't break records, one thing was certain-she had to outperform Annalise. This was how Jessica could prove to Steven and Zane that she was better than Annalise. Jessica wanted them to adore her, willingly abandon Annalise, and build a better life with her.
Her career always came first. If her comic was successful, it would earn her the admiration and attention she craved.
Jessica smirked as she looked at her phone screen. She had been extremely busy lately-juggling her career, trying to please Zane and Casper, and ensuring that Steven continued to provide her with financial support. Hence, she had to divide her time across different matters.
Jessica's expression turned serious as she wondered if she should give up one of the three men. After all, managing her pregnancy and juggling so many relationships was starting to feel overwhelming. However, she quickly dismissed the thought.

ensured her current life was one of indulgence and luxury, while Casper served as her backup plan
Her career, however, was her ultimate lifeline. It was the one thing that could guarantee she would thrive on her own if the men abandoned her.
Thus, Jessica decided it was best to engage with Zane, Steven, and Casper. It might be exhausting to juggle everything now, but the payoff would be worth it. One day, she'd live a life of comfort.
Jessica's mood lightened visibly. She pulled up her chat with Casper, her fingers hovering over the keyboard.
She'd already played the part earlier, softening her words to placate him. But she still wasn't sure if he'd truly forgiven her. Jessica decided to test Casper's attitude toward her. After some deliberation, she typed a seemingly thoughtful message. "How have you been lately?"
Since Zane had stepped in to help Casper hire new employees, his life had become noticeably less hectic. When he saw Jessica's message pop up, it only reinforced what he'd come to understand about her. Back when Zane wasn't on Casper's side, Jessica had been cold and indifferent. She never initiated conversations, and even when he reached out to her, her responses were brief and dismissive.
However, things had changed after his family's bankruptcy. Casper had been forced to face harsh realities and witness the true colors of those around him. Without his family's power and wealth, he was noone in their eyes. noveldrama
Casper understood Jessica's behavior. After he met Zane, Jessica suddenly cared about how he was doing.
Casper couldn't quite put his
feelings into words, but he was
certain he didn't like Jessica's behavior. He preferred the old Jessica the one who couldn't be bothered to give him the time of day. At least then, he could convince himself that her coldness came from not knowing how to deal with him.
