The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 406

Watching the scene unfold, Renae gaped at Matthew and covered her mouth with her hand as she gasped in surprise.

The woman furrowed her brows and turned to look at Renae. Then, she reached out her hand to the waistband of Matthew's shorts.

Her hand was immediately slapped away. She stopped what she was doing and glanced up at Matthew. "I need to do the final check before you can meet the person you're here to see." Matthew sat up and looked at the woman crouching in front of the couch. "Alright. That's enough. Don't push it."

The woman furrowed her brows. "Don't you want to see that person? You'd better think this through."

Matthew's expression turned cold. "She's the one who wants to meet me. I'm the person possessing the medical literature here.

"If she doesn't buy it, I can sell it to someone else. And if she misses out, even money won't help her get it."

With that, Matthew reached out and grabbed the woman's ear, slowly asking, "Are you clear on that?"

The woman grimaced in pain from her ear being yanked, her brows knitting together. "You might not be aware. Besides her, nobody else would be interested in purchasing your medical literature. Matthew coldly remarked, "Don't be so full of yourself. I refused to believe she's the only buyer in the world."

The woman looked at Matthew with a mocking grin, as if he were some hick. "You know nothing about medicine and the value of traditional medical books. In this country, traditional medicine is pretty much on the decline. Only the older people still care about it.

"With young people losing interest, traditional medicine doesn't have much of a demand. So, traditional medical books are less valuable, and nobody wants to pay for them. Egrus and Musnea aren't interested in them either.

"So, only this client is willing to pay a high price. If you pass this up, you'll lose out a fortune and a golden opportunity to get rich."

Matthew fixed his gaze on the woman, but she didn't back down and locked eyes with him. His mind was racing. Since it wasn't a local, Egrus, or Musnea buyer, he had a rough idea of who it might be.

Matthew pushed the woman away and snapped, "You know what? I'm not selling it anymore."

The woman exclaimed when she was shoved aside. Losing her balance, she fell to the floor. As she saw that Matthew was about to walk away, she started to panic. "Hold up."

Matthew coldly grunted. "Tell her I'm raising the price and that it'll be 200 million dollars. If she's cool with that, I'll see her. If not, forget it."

Raising the price last minute seemed unreasonable, but Matthew wanted to see how much the book was worth in the buyer's eyes.

Plus, he tried to figure out the rank of this woman who approached her. The goons typically didn't have the authority to make such a decision.

Standing at the side, Renae became anxious. Meeting the culprit to get her revenge was more important her than money. She was worried that Matthew might scare the Buyer away, losing her the opportunity for vengeance.

Renae frantically signaled to Matthew with her hand gestures. But he seemed to ignore her completely, making her even more anxious. Did Matthew just raise the price? The woman stood up and looked at him for a long while. "Are you being serious?"

Matthew didn't say a word. His silence was his response.

Upon seeing this, the woman took out her phone and sent a message. She then put her phone away and said, "Alright. I'll take you to her."

A hint of surprise flashed in Matthew's eyes. "Alright then. Let's get moving."

The person he'd be meeting soon was definitely someone special. It couldn't be Haley, who had just come back from studying abroad in Eastoria. Upon hearing the reply, Renae was so excited that her hands started trembling. After fixing her hair, she bit her lower lip and trailed behind Matthew. Matthew turned to glare at Renae. "I've got serious business to handle. Why are you tagging along, you idiot? Go back to enjoy your massage." His words came across like a husband snapping at his wife to stay put before heading out to take care of something.

This time, he had no idea how many

of them were out there or how dangerous it could get. But one thing

was for sure-it'd be much more dangerous than he first imagined.

Renae looked even more determined. She hooked her arm around Matthew's and followed closely. Her message was clear-she was definitely coming along.

Matthew flinched. Renae was barelynoveldrama

wearing anything to cover herself

yet she was clinging to his arm. Feeling the warmth from her arm against his, he found his heart

started racing.

He yanked his arm away with a serious look on his face. "I'm warning you again. This is serious stuff here. Quit messing around and go away."

Matthew had faced off against Eastorian in the past, and it always evolved into a fierce battle. With their lives on the line, he was genuinely mad.

Go away? Even though Matthew's words were harsh, a wave of warmth washed over Renae. She could tell he cared about her, so she clung to his arm more firmly.

"I want to go with you," Renae said. Her tone sounded like a wife playfully pouting at her husband.

Matthew frowned when the woman leading them came to a door and stopped in her tracks. "We're here. It's this room."

Matthew knitted his brows together and angrily glared at Renae. "Scram. This is your last warning, or I'll get serious."
