Remarriage You 458

Chapter 458 Are You Still Afraid I Will Leave

It was already noon when Zachary instructed his driver to head straight to a certain restaurant.

The waiter led the pair to a private dining room on the second floor before politely presenting them with the menu.

Zachary had visited this place a few times before but only noticed the lamb dishes on the menu this time, likely due to him not fancying them.

Casually flipping through the menu, Lenora randomly selected a few dishes.noveldrama

After that, Zachary told the waiter, "I want to add lamb stew and lamb ribs."

"You certainly have good taste, sir. These two are our specialties," the waiter noted with a smile.

"Isn't it too much food?"

"No worries, we can take the leftovers home."

Zachary handed the menu back to the waiter. "That will be all."

While they waited for their meal, the two casually chatted.

Zachary was meticulously listed all the upcoming new products from the subsidiaries and studios of Fuller Group, asking Lenora which one piqued her interest.

As long as Lenora made a choice, he could arrange for her to conduct a product shoot for them.

If she desired to work for a magazine, he was also willing to make a recommendation.

Lenora hadn't expected him to be serious. She laughed lightly and said, "No rush. Let's wait until I really can't find a job first."

Roughly ten minutes had passed when the waitstaff had finished serving the dishes.

Somehow, when Lenora saw those two plates of lamb, she surprisingly didn't feel much desire for them. Instead, she found himself reaching for the other dishes instead.

Upon seeing this, Zachary picked up a piece of lamb from the stew for Lenora, placing it on her plate. "Here, give their signature dish a try," he suggested.

Lenora went on to take a piece of lamb, bringing it to her mouth.

An overpowering stench quickly hit her nostrils, causing Lenora's expression to change drastically. In an instant, she dropped her fork and leaned over the trash can, retching. Everything that had just been eaten was thrown up.

Immediately, Zachary dropped his fork and rose to his feet, moving to Lenora's side. His hand gently patted her back.

Only when she had nothing left to throw up did Lenora straighten her body.

Zachary helped her to her feet, casually handing her a glass of water. "How do you feel now?"

After rinsing her mouth, Lenora, pale-faced, said, "I'm alright. For some reason, I suddenly found the mutton overpoweringly gamey and felt like throwing up."

She used to enjoy eating lamb, but to his surprise, she threw up today. Zachary simply assumed that the lamb from this place wasn't fresh.

He picked up a piece of lamb with his fork and gave it a sniff.

He had never been a fan of lamb. Now, due to the influence of the circumstances, he found it even more peculiar. He moved the two plates of lamb to the side, saying, "Let's not eat them anymore." His face darkened slightly, and he promptly pressed the bell on the table.

A minute later, the waitress knocked and entered the room. She immediately sensed the heavy atmosphere inside which stirred a sense of unease within her. "Sir, ma'am, how can I assist you?" she asked. When she caught sight of the filth in the trash can, her sense of foreboding intensified.

Just as expected, Zachary's face hardened as he said gravely, "My wife suddenly threw up after eating your lamb stew. She loves lamb and has never had this issue before. I suspect that your lamb isn't fresh. It might even be spoiled!"

The waitress glanced at Lenora, whose face was deathly pale. She was clearly not feigning her discomfort. In a reassuring tone, the waitress said, "Sir, ma'am, we deeply regret this unfortunate incident. But our restaurant only uses freshly slaughtered lamb, so it's impossible for it to be stale or spoiled. Why don't I take the two dishes back?"

A high-end restaurant like them would never risk damaging their reputation and brand over small profit.

Zachary had been there a few times, naturally because the quality of the establishment was assured.

However, Lenora, who loved lamb, suddenly threw up after smelling the lamb there.

"I want to see your manager," Zachary commanded. He could easily afford the two dishes and didn't want to put the waitress in a difficult position.

The waitress hesitated for a few seconds, but knowing that these two guests were not to be trifled with, she quickly agreed. "Please wait a moment, I'll go get the manager right away," she said.

The waiter was about to leave when Zachary called out to her again, "Wait, I want to order a bowl of plain risotto, and bring it over as soon as possible."

"Alright."

A few minutes later, the manager knocked and entered, carrying an unopened bottle of whiskey and some glasses. With an apologetic smile, he said, "Mr. and Mrs. Fuller I've heard about the situation. My sincerest apologies, it seems our kitchen staff may not have been attentive enough in their cooking. I will personally drink three shots to make it up to you. Additionally, I'll add two more dishes to your meal and waive the cost of this meal.

How does that sound?"

In the past, when Zachary used to socialize there, the manager would make a special effort to come over and refill his drink. They even engage in brief conversation.

"Three shots might not be enough."

"How about ten shots?"

When Zachary saw how sincere the manager was, his expression finally softened. He turned to Lenora, "Nora, what do you think?"

Reflecting on the earlier situation, Lenora thought that the mutton didn't seem to be spoiled, but rather, it had a strong gamey odor, likely due to improper preparation. She said, "That will do." Zachary gave the manager a glance.

The manager chuckled. "Thank you, Mrs. Fuller, for showing me mercy."

After he finished speaking, he began pouring himself drinks, each glass full to the point of nearly overflowing.

After downing ten shots, the

manager's face was as red as an apple. He glanced at Zachary,

"Alright, Mr. and Mrs. Fuller, thanket

you for your magnanimity. I will personally go to the kitchen to keep an eye on them, to ensure they don't repeat their mistakes."

Zachary waved his hand dismissively. "Go on. If this happens again, I'll make sure your restaurant goes bust."

"I promise you it won't happen again!"

The manager breathed a sigh of relief, clutching the bottle of whiskey as he left.

In less than two minutes, the waitress brought up a bowl of plain risotto.

Lenora simply had the risotto and some light dishes.

In the kitchen, the manager, with a stern expression, asked, "Who was in charge of the lamb today?"

As soon as the lamb arrived at the restaurant, there was a dedicated person in the kitchen responsible for cutting it into pieces and marinating it to remove the gamey taste. After the gamey taste was removed, it was then portioned out onto plates. If someone ordered a dish it could go straight into the pot.

A young man raised his hand. "Me, sir. What's up?"

"How long has it been marinating?" The manager gave him a glance.

Though the young man was relatively inexperienced due to his age, he had been working in the restaurant for two years without any major mishaps. "Half an hour. The meat was marinated as soon as it was delivered this morning. If you don't believe me, you can go check the surveillance footage."

The manager was suddenly filled with questions.

Well, this is really strange. Given that there isn't any problem with the process, could it be that Mr. and Mrs. Fuller were trying to swindle us? Meanwhile, Zachary and Lenora didn't think much of the incident.

After leaving the restaurant, the two of them returned to their car.

Halfway through the journey, Lenora gazed out at the street. It dawned on her belatedly, "Are we heading to Galaxy Bay?" "Mmm-hmm, Hattie and I have moved back. You should live with us too, Nora. It's not fair to keep imposing on Sophia." Lenora hesitated. "Well..."

"If you feel uncomfortable with the idea, we can go to City Hall and get remarried right now."

"That's not necessary," Lenora blurted out in reflex.

After she finished speaking, she suddenly realized something. She glanced at Zachary and gave an awkward smile.

Zachary's eyes darkened. "Nora, don't you want to remarry me?"

With a light chuckle, Lenora said, "I'm already back with you, this one document doesn't really matter. Do you really think I'd leave you?" They didn't share any assets, nor did they have children. So, whether they remarried or not, it made no real difference.

Zachary remained silent, his lips pressed together.

He understood that she hadn't completely trusted him yet and was leaving some wiggle room for herself in case things didn't work out.

Upon arriving at Galaxy Bay, Zachary took it upon himself to carry Lenora's luggage to the master bedroom. He then suggested, "Why don't you go rest in the guest room? I'll help you unpack." "Alright." Lenora didn't object and went to the guest room to catch up on her sleep.

At five o'clock, the two of them went together to pick up Harrietta from school.

In the evening, Zachary wasn't able to have his way because Lenora had been completely occupied by Harrietta.
