Remarriage You 450

Chapter 450 Delay Her As Long As You Can

After the plane took off, Zachary remained absorbed in his work, only responding briefly with "no" when the flight attendant asked if he needed any drinks or food. Isla glanced at Zachary, bit her lip, and coquettishly told the flight attendant, "I'll have a glass of milk."

After speaking, she cast a sidelong glance at Zachary, only to see him still focused intently on his laptop screen, completely oblivious to her presence.

Isla pouted.

Eager to make some noise to catch his attention, she tried various little tricks, but to no avail.

After half an hour, she asked for a meal from the flight attendant, ate it, and then asked the attendant to collect her trash.

Still, Zachary's attention remained fixed on his work. Growing impatient, Isla devised a plan.

She took out her lipstick and mirror from her bag, pretending to touch up her makeup.

Suddenly, her hand slipped, and the lipstick fell to the ground, rolling right to Zachary's feet.

Isla's lips curled into a subtle smile before she smoothed her expression and said to Zachary, "Excuse me, sir, could you pick up my lipstick for me?" Zachary finally reacted.

His attention shifted from his work as he looked toward the speaker in confusion. When he saw it was Isla, his brows furrowed slightly.

Feigning surprise, Isla said, "Oh, it's you! Um, could you help me pick up my lipstick?"

Zachary followed the direction of her finger, saw the lipstick near his feet, bent down to pick it up, handed it back to her, and returned to his work without a word, treating her as if she were a complete stranger. "Thank you."

Isla felt a pang of discomfort at being so blatantly ignored.

She had hoped for a warm response from him, but her pride wouldn't allow her to appear too eager.

Opening her mouth, she said, "I hope you don't get the wrong idea. I'm just heading back home to visit my family. I didn't know you'd be on this flight."

As the words fell, Isla watched Zachary's expression out of the corner of her eye, waiting for a response.

The first-class cabin was quiet, with only the hum of the aircraft, occasional snores from sleeping passengers, the clatter of keyboard typing, or the sound of pages turning breaking the silence. The silence grew heavier.

It was as if Zachary hadn't heard Isla's words. His face remained calm and unbothered as he immersed himself in his work.

It wasn't that he misunderstood her. He simply didn't care why she was on the plane.

Isla's expression stiffened for a moment.

Feeling awkward, she retracted her gaze, scoffing inwardly, Just wait until he learns who my uncle is. Let's see if he dares to treat me like this then!

Her uncle was Matthew.

Even businessmen like Zachary, whose Fuller Group was firmly established in Nusridge with numerous international branches, had to show respect in front of someone like Matthew. Zachary worked for several hours before finally closing his laptop. He rubbed his temples in exhaustion and adjusted his seat. Pulling a thin blanket over himself, he began to rest. After disembarking, a driver was already waiting for him at the airport.

Zachary first returned to Fuller Group and worked until five in the evening before asking his driver to take him to Harrietta's kindergarten.

Kindergarten was dismissed half past five.

The driver arrived a few minutes early, and Zachary deliberately stepped out to wait.

Clad in a simple shirt and trousers, he stood tall and handsome, immediately drawing the attention of mothers and grandmothers waiting to pick up their children.

Before long, the kindergarten gates opened, and a line of children streamed out, waiting to be taken home by their guardians.

Dressed in a beautiful little dress, Harrietta stood out, her fair face scanning the crowd for Miranda.

Suddenly, she caught sight of a familiar figure. Startled for a moment, she quickly informed her teacher and darted like a small cannonball toward Zachary, throwing herself into his arms. "Uncle Zachary, you're back! I missed you so much!" After being released from the detention center, Zachary quickly took care of some affairs before heading off to Fairlake.

Meanwhile, Allison and Harrietta had just returned to Jacaster two days prior and hadn't seen him yet.

Zachary scooped her up effortlessly and replied cheerfully, "I missed you too."

Harrietta clung to Zachary's neck, planting a kiss on his cheek before chattering away. "Uncle Zachary, I really missed you. Where have you been all this time?"

"Just busy with work," Zachary replied, helping Harrietta remove her little backpack and settling her into the car.

"Are you still busy now? Will you leave again?"

Harrietta's big eyes blinked, full of longing.

"I'm not leaving anymore. Everything will go back to how it was before, okay?" Zachary reassured her.

Harrietta's face lit up with a smile. "Okay."

But as quickly as her smile appeared, it faded. Her little face grew forlorn. "But will Aunt Lenora come back too? I miss her."

"Don't worry. She'll be back in a few days," Zachary said, patting her head gently.

"Really? Really?"

Harrietta's eyes sparkled with excitement as she looked up at him. "Is Aunt Lenora really coming back?"

Her repeated "reallys" revealed just how much she missed Lenora.

"Yes." Zachary smiled. "I wouldn't lie to you."

"But..." Harrietta gave him a skeptical look. "Will Aunt Lenora forgive you?"

Zachary was speechless.

Zachary had the driver take them to the Fuller residence, where they joined Allison for dinner.

Meanwhile, the advertisement shoot for the couple ring was finalized, and Zachary's magazine photos were in the final stages of retouching, pending approval. Zachary eagerly hoped Lenora would wrap up her work and return soon, so he made sure not to delay her.

In other words, Lenora's work was

almost done. She had already started looking at flights back to

Clusia but planned to inform Bella and Sophia after booking he ticket.

At the same time, an entertainment magazine featuring her photography work was released.

She had taken several photos of an actress, and when the magazine announced its release, the actress' agency also shared some additional pictures online.

Lenora kept an eye on the public reception among the actress' fans.noveldrama

Most praised the actress for her elegant beauty, while only a few noted that the photographer had done a good job.

This small acknowledgment was enough to satisfy Lenora.

After all, when working behind the

scenes with celebrities, doing well was merely expected, but any mistakes could provoke complaints from the higher-ups and relentless criticism from fans.

In this context, the absence of negative feedback of the staff meant her work was deemed satisfactory.

Just as Lenora was about to confirm her flight, she received a call from an unfamiliar number.

The caller turned out to be a representative from a fashion brand, inviting her to shoot their new seasonal advertisement.

This fashion brand had a decent reputation, and Lenora couldn't understand why they'd sought her out.

The caller explained that their initial

photographer had canceled

unexpectedly, leaving them

scrambling to find a replacement et

Other photographers weren't available. A friend's

recommendation had led them to her.

Lenora asked, "When is the shooting date?"

"From next Tuesday to Thursday."

It was already Sunday.

After some hesitation, Lenora agreed.

She didn't want to miss such an opportunity.

It would only mean returning home a week later.

Zachary had always supported her work, so he wouldn't mind if she stayed a little longer.

After the call ended, the person in charge immediately called another number. "Ms. Isla, the arrangements are complete."

"Excellent." Isla's lips curled into a pleased smile. "Delay her as long as you can."

She would make sure Lenora wouldn't return anytime soon.
