My Four Miraculous Treasures

Chapter 89

To think Jasper would do such things to her in front of Edith.

He was only making enemies for her that way.

She also learned today that Edith had feelings for Jasper.

However, Jasper had refused Edith. Willow was rather delighted to see Edith in that battered state.

The last time her children came to Hughes Corporation, Edith had scared them into scattering around the office.

Since then, Willow had never liked Edith. She even felt biased against her.

She actually felt satisfied after seeing Edith in this sorry state!

Finally, it was time to get off work.

When Willow returned home, Lara approached her imposingly and jabbed her forehead with a finger as she complained, "What did I do to deserve a daughter like you?! I asked you to go on a blind date, and not only did you offend him, but you even lied about having a boyfriend! Who would ever want to get to know you now that your reputation is down the drain? Will you ever be able to marry?"

Willow pouted innocently, feeling wronged. She clung to her mother's elbow and acted coy in an attempt to appease her mother's anger. "Mom, why must I get married? Isn't this just nice?"noveldrama

"It's not. You have to raise four children on your own. I'd let you be if you were an elite office worker making a million dollars a year! But you're a janitor with no man to rely on. You have to shoulder everything on your own. Do you think you're tough enough? Can't you be like Samantha? Look how accomplished she is, while you, on the other hand, have nothing! Comparing the two of you is so frustrating!" Lara was heaving with anger as she spoke.

"Says who I have nothing? I have four smart and adorable little treasures. This is a blessing that other people can't have even if they beg," Willow reasoned.

"I don't think it's a burden to raise them on my own. On the contrary, it'd only be irresponsible of me to hastily marry some unreliable man You should've seen what happened today. My blind date said that he doesn't mind that I've given birth to four children, but he considers them a burden. He wanted me to marry him on the spot, but on the condition that I abandon my children and bear him two in the future. Why would I want a man like that?"

Lara's expression softened upon hearing this. She sighed heavily and said, "My heart just aches when I think of Samantha's boyfriend, and then of you. Why is your life worse than hers?"

"I don't like hearing this, Mom. What

do you mean my life is worse than hers? She can't bear four children even if she wants to, much less four beautiful and smart children. Moreover, everyone lives different lives, so we shouldn't compare ourselves."

Willow's children were her emotional pillar of support as well as her pride. Her babies were intelligent, sensible, and most importantly, very lovely. One simply couldn't beg for such blessings.

"I understand, but you should've seen Samantha's boyfriend. He's the most handsome and charismatic man I've ever seen. Why can't my daughter have a man like that? Sigh..." Lara sighed again.

She would even smile in her dreams if her daughter had such a gorgeous, charismatic, rich, and doting boyfriend.

"Mom, I've met Samantha's so-called boyfriend. He is indeed handsome and outstanding, but you're mistaken. He's not Samantha's boyfriend."

Willow knew that Lara and the villagers must have misunderstood when Jasper showed up at Nason Village that day. They thought he was Samantha's boyfriend.

At first, she assumed the same. However, Jasper had said so himself that Samantha wasn't his girlfriend.

Willow believed him because he couldn't possibly lie about something so trivial. He didn't have to either.

"How do you know that they're not in a relationship?" Lara's eyes lit up and she scrutinized Willow. "Are you perhaps close to him?"
