My Four Miraculous Treasures

Chapter 82

Willow quickly freshened up. She found Lara cooking in the kitchen.

It was now twelve in the afternoon. It would be lunchtime at Hughes Corporation even if she went now.noveldrama

She should just have lunch before going over.

Thus, Willow calmed down and joined Helen and the children with a smile.

"Mommy, do you want a biscuit?" Hailey lifted her chubby arm, holding a bear-shaped fruit cookie. Her dark eyes were cute and bright.

Willow smiled sweetly and took the cookie. "Thank you, sweetheart."

"You're welcome. I'm happy if Mommy is happy." Hailey smiled. Sweet little dimples appeared on her soft, chubby little cheeks. Willow's heart melted at the sight.

Lara recalled what happened back at Nason Village while she was preparing lunch.

Samantha had built a luxurious tall building that ended up blocking the sunlight in her home.

Samantha drove home in a luxury car while they had to take the train and carry their own luggage. They were in such different leagues.

Samantha was dressed in branded clothing and donned precious jewelry, but she was dressed in tattered clothing without a single piece of accessory.

Their family of seven even had to squeeze in an eight hundred square feet rented house.

Just the thought of this made Lara feel miserable.

She came out of the kitchen and was greeted by a warm and joyful scene in the living room.

Willow was sitting on a foam mat with her four children huddled around her laughing happily as they played with their toy train.

Willow pushed the toy train around, making choo-choo sounds, simulating the departure of the train. The four children pretended to be passengers and held onto the back of each other's shirts, following along as the train moved, laughing heartily as they did. Lara was already moody, and this scene only made her want to demand more from her daughter.

How could Willow be so simple-minded?

Where was her sense of crisis?

Other people would've looked forlorn and miserable all the time when they were being pressured to care for two elderly and raise four children.

Yet, not only did Willow not worry, but she was even enjoying herself.

Her optimism in life made Lara speechless.

Lara frowned and scolded Willow, "You're already half a day late, but you're still so carefree. Aren't you afraid of getting fired? You have a family to take care of, so can you be more reliable?! All you ever do is eat and play, eat and play!"

Willow's expression stiffened and she smiled sheepishly. "Mom, I'll go to work after eating lunch."

"Who said there was lunch for you? There isn't." Lara glowered.

Hailey pushed herself up from the

mat clumsily. She then trotted over to Lara and tugged on her shirt, Looking up, she said softly,

"Grandma, let Mommy eat. She'll die

if she doesn't eat."

Lilith added cutely, "If Grandma won't let Mommy eat, we'll let Mommy eat our snacks. Mommy is very reliable, so please don't scold her." Willow teared up, feeling warm on the inside.

Lara sighed and her tone softened. "I didn't say that she couldn't eat, but she can't eat at home. She has to eat at a restaurant."

Hailey's eyes lit up. "I want to eat at a restaurant too. Can I go?"

Lara didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "Your mother is going on a blind date, so you kids can't go."

She went to lengths to have her gambling buddy introduce Willow to a blind date. She couldn't afford any mishaps since this man was willing to meet Willow despite knowing that she had four children.

It was difficult to even get a man who was willing to go on a blind date with Willow.
