Alpha Fenrir and Aurora Chapter 365
The camp was eerily quiet that night, the faint rustle of the forest the only sound as Elyra sat by the dying embers of the fire. The battle earlier had left her exhausted, her body aching and her mind spinning with questions she couldn't answer. She stared at the flickering flames, her thoughts consumed by Dain. No matter how much she tried, she couldn't shake the growing fear that saving her brother might be impossible.
The shadows danced along the edges of the camp, shifting unnaturally in the moonlight. Elyra tensed, her hand instinctively reaching for the dagger at her side. But then the air grew warmer, softer, and a radiant glow began to seep into the clearing.
From the light stepped Althea, her presence ethereal and commanding. The Moon Goddess's silver hair cascaded down her back, and her eyes shimmered with wisdom-and sorrow. Elyra rose to her feet, feeling both awe and dread. "Althea," Elyra whispered, her voice trembling. "Why are you here?"
The goddess approached her with measured grace, her expression a mixture of compassion and severity. "Because you stand at a crossroads, Elyra," she said, her voice melodic yet heavy with meaning. "The prophecy nears its fulfillment, but the price it demands will be greater than you can imagine."
Elyra's chest tightened. She'd known there would be sacrifices, but hearing it spoken aloud felt like a blow. "What price?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Althea's gaze softened, but her words cut like a blade. "The bond between you and your brother is breaking," she said. "Once it's gone, the world will fall into chaos. The shard's power is feeding on your connection, twisting it into something unrecognizable. If it succeeds... neither of you will survive."
Elyra's knees threatened to buckle, but she forced herself to remain standing. "You're saying I have to stop him," she said, her voice wavering. "But how? Every time I try, he's stronger. He's consumed by the shard, by the darkness. How can I save him?"
"You may not be able to," Althea said, her voice laced with sadness. "And if you cannot... you must be prepared to do what is necessary to save the packs."
The words hung in the air, suffocating Elyra with their weight. The thought of killing Dain, her brother, the boy she had grown up protecting, was unbearable.noveldrama
"There has to be another way," Elyra said, desperation creeping into her voice. "Please, tell me there's another way."
Althea reached out, her hand brushing lightly against Elyra's cheek. "The path you choose is yours alone," she said. "But know this: the prophecy does not guarantee peace. It only guarantees change. And with change comes loss."
The goddess began to fade, her light dimming as she stepped back into the shadows. Before she disappeared entirely, she spoke one last time.
"Be strong, Elyra. The fate of the packs rests in your hands."
As the clearing returned to darkness, Elyra sank to the ground, her head in her hands. The weight of Althea's words crushed her, and for the first time in a long while, she felt truly lost.
The night stretched on, her restless thoughts keeping her from sleep. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw Dain his smile from when they were children, his laughter when they would race through the woods. But that Dain was gone, replaced by a man cloaked in shadow, his eyes cold and unrecognizable.
"How do I save the packs without losing him?" Elyra whispered to the night, her voice breaking.
No answer came, only the soft rustle of leaves in the breeze.
When sleep finally claimed her, it was not the solace she had hoped for. Instead, her dreams were vivid and cruel.
She stood in a desolate battlefield,
the sky dark and heavy with ash.

Around her lay the broken bodies of wolves, their blood staining the earth. In the center of it all stood. Dain, his armor black as night, the shard embedded in his chest glowing with malevolent light.
"Dain," Elyra called out, her voice echoing in the emptiness.
He turned to her, but there was no recognition in his eyes-only darkness.
In her dream, she raised her sword, her hands trembling. Tears streamed down her face as she lunged, the blade plunging into Dain's chest. He collapsed at her feet, his body lifeless, and the shard shattered, its fragments scattering like glass.
"I told you," his voice boomed, cold and detached. "You cannot save me."
The dream ended with Elyra standing alone in the ruins, the weight of what she had done crushing her.
-: Elyra woke with a gasp, her heart
pounding. The vision lingered in her mind, vivid and unrelenting-the image of herself standing over Dain's lifeless body, the shard shattered at her feet. Was this her future? Was this the prophecy's price?
What do you think?
