Aurora awoke the next morning to the sound of raised voices outside her cabin. She hurriedly dressed, her heart pounding as she stepped into the crisp morning air. Wolves were gathered near the central grounds, their expressions tense. Cassian stood at the center, his

stance commanding as he addressed the crowd.

"What's going on?" Aurora asked Iris, who was standing nearby.

"Magnus's scouts," Iris replied grimly. "They found something near the northern perimeter."

Aurora's chest tightened as she turned her attention to Cassian. His voice carried over the gathered wolves, steady but sharp.

"We've confirmed that Magnus is using Lycans as part of his advance," Cassian said. "Their numbers are still small, but they're testing our borders more aggressively."

"What are we going to do, Alpha?" a young wolf called out.

Cassian's gaze swept over the crowd, his expression unwavering. "We fortify our defenses and prepare for their next move. This pack is strong, and together, we will stand against whatever Magnus throws at us."

The wolves murmured their agreement, though unease lingered in their eyes.

Later, as the wolves dispersed to their tasks, Cassian found Aurora near the healer's quarters.

"Are you all right?" he asked, his voice soft.

Aurora nodded, though her hands were trembling. "I just this feels so much bigger than anything I've ever faced."

Cassian stepped closer, his presence steadying. "It is. But you don't have to face it alone."

Aurora's throat tightened, but she nodded, drawing strength from his words.noveldrama

That afternoon, a group of scouts returned from the northern perimeter, their expressions grim. Nathan met them near the central grounds, his stance tense as he listened to their report. "They're moving supplies through the mountain pass," one of the scouts said. "Weapons, armor... things I've never seen before."

Nathan's brow furrowed. "What kind of weapons?"

The scout hesitated. "I'm not sure. But whatever it is, they're preparing for a siege."

Cassian arrived moments later, his gaze sharp as he joined the conversation. "Do they have a timeline?"

"They're keeping their movements subtle," the scout replied. "But I'd guess they'll be ready to move in a matter of days."

Cassian's jaw tightened. "We don't have much time."

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Aurora found herself wandering toward the training grounds. Wolves were sparring under Nathan's watchful eye, their movements precise and focused. "Thinking about joining them?" Cassian's voice startled her, and she turned to see him standing nearby.

Aurora shook her head. "I don't think I'd be much help in a fight."

Cassian stepped closer, his expression softening. "You're stronger than you think, Aurora."

She hesitated, then said, "What if it's not enough?"

"It will be," he said firmly. "Because it has to be."

That evening, as the pack gathered for a meal, Cassian addressed them once more.

"Magnus's forces are growing, but so are we," he said, his voice steady. "The reinforcements from the eastern packs will be here soon, and when they arrive, we'll be ready to strike." The wolves listened intently, their resolve clear despite the tension in the air.

"We've faced threats before," Cassian continued. "And we've come out stronger every time. This pack is more than just wolves-it's family. And we fight for each other."

The crowd erupted in howls of agreement, their voices echoing through the forest.

Aurora stood at the edge of the gathering, her chest tightening as she watched Cassian rally his pack. His strength and determination were undeniable, and she felt a flicker of hope that they might survive this.
