Luna Aurora novel (Alpha Fenrir)

That evening, Aurora ventured outside for the first time since the attack. The air was cool, and the scent of pine and earth filled her lungs. She walked slowly, her steps unsteady, but the act of moving felt like a small victory. Iris spotted her and hurried over, a bright smile lighting up her face. "You're out!"

Aurora managed a faint smile. "I needed some air."

"I'm glad to see you," Iris said. "The healer's been worried. We all have."

Aurora nodded, her gaze drifting to the forest beyond the camp. "How's the pack?"noveldrama

Iris hesitated. "They're... managing. But things are tense. Everyone knows Fenrir's not done, and Magnus-" She broke off, shaking her head. "Anyway, they're holding together. Thanks to Cassian."

Aurora's chest tightened at the mention of his name. "He's been..."

"Relentless," Iris supplied. "But that's just who he is. He'd burn himself out for this pack if he thought it would help."

Aurora looked away, guilt and gratitude warring within her.

Later, Aurora found herself by the river, the same place she'd spoken to Cassian before the ambush. The memories felt like a lifetime ago. She wrapped her arms around herself, her gaze fixed on the rippling water. "You shouldn't be out here alone."

Aurora turned to see Cassian approaching, his steps measured.

"I needed to think," she said quietly.

Cassian stopped beside her, his presence solid and grounding. "You don't have to do this alone."

Aurora's lips pressed into a thin line. "Everyone I try to hold on to disappears. My mother, my children... I can't keep putting people in danger."

Cassian's jaw tightened. "You didn't put anyone in danger, Aurora. This isn't your fault."

She shook her head, tears slipping down her cheeks. "I don't know who I am without them."

Cassian reached out, his hand brushing against hers. "You're still you. Strong, resilient. And you're not alone-not as long as I'm here."

Aurora looked up at him, her heart aching at the sincerity in his voice. For a moment, she let herself believe him, leaning into his steady presence.
